Details
A skilled and aggressive litigator, Dale E. Akins has spent the past 30-plus years building his experience in personal injury law. Maintaining an active practice in South Carolina and Georgia, Dale Akins established the Akins Law Firm, LLC, in Bluffton, South Carolina, in 2006.
As a trusted source for compassionate and high-quality legal services, Mr. Akins has helped his clients with a variety of legal matters involving auto accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability accidents, defective products accidents, truck wrecks, construction accidents, wrongful death, traumatic brain and spine injuries, and animal attacks. He also focuses a significant portion of his practice on general civil litigation matters and federal civil disputes. As a certified mediator, he tries to resolve legal disputes outside of court, when it is in the best interests of his clients.
Mr. Akins is a 1988 Bachelor of Arts graduate of Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. He received his Juris Doctor from Mercer University School of Law in Macon, Georgia, in 1991. The same year, he was admitted to all the state and federal courts of Georgia and then to South Carolina (1992). He is admitted to the United States Supreme Court.
For his high level of professional excellence and ethical standards, Mr. Akins has been rated AV Preeminent* by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a part of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a prestigious organization where membership is limited to attorneys who have won verdicts and settlements in excess of $1 million for their clients. He holds a 10.0 rating on Avvo.
When not running his firm, Mr. Akins gives back to the legal community by being part of many legal organizations such as the South Carolina Association for Justice, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. He is the former chairman of the State Bar of Georgia – Young Lawyers Division and was a member of the House of Delegates of the South Carolina Bar. He also previously served on the Commission on Lawyer Conduct for the South Carolina Supreme Court. He frequently speaks at several CLE seminars and is a permanent member of the Judicial Conference of the Fourth Circuit.
