Stephen Meyer is an attorney and partner at Vaux Marscher Berglind, PA, in Bluffton, South Carolina. He also serves as a Guardian ad Litem in family law cases as well as a certified Family Court Mediator.  Mr. Meyer has successfully litigated and mediated hundreds of cases in the Family Courts of South Carolina.  He represents clients in Bluffton and throughout the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit of South Carolina, which includes Beaufort, Jasper, Hampton, Colleton, and Allendale counties.

Mr. Meyer received a bachelor’s degree in political science from American University in Washington, D.C. He went on to graduate magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he earned a certificate in children’s law. While attending law school, he received several academic honors and belonged to the international legal honor society Phi Delta Phi, the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Wig and Robe.

Additionally, Mr. Meyer was editor-in-chief of The Journal of Law and Education. Upon law school graduation, he passed the South Carolina bar examination and obtained his license to practice law before all South Carolina state courts. He is also qualified to appear before the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

An active member of his legal and professional communities, Mr. Meyer is a member and past president of the Beaufort County Bar Association and a member of the Hilton Head Island Bar Association.  Mr. Meyer also teaches constitutional law with the Osher Life Long Learning program at the University of South Carolina Beaufort.  He serves as the American University alumni area representative for South Carolina and the Gamecock Club, and is active with his local church.
