David L. Paavola

David L. Paavola, a seasoned litigator with Kenison, Dudley & Crawford, LLC, in Columbia, South Carolina, champions individuals and businesses across the state in a range of legal arenas, including construction and contract disputes, eminent domain and complex business lawsuits. His legal prowess extends to representing clients in both state and federal appellate courts.

Originating from Juneau, Alaska, Mr. Paavola embarked on his academic journey at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where he secured his Bachelor of Business Administration in 2002. His pursuit of legal knowledge led him to the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2012. During his time there, he held the esteemed position of editor-in-chief of the South Carolina Law Review, Volume 63. Admitted to practice in South Carolina in 2012, he also appears before the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.

Before entering the realm of law, Mr. Paavola navigated the intricate landscape of commercial banking and finance, making his mark in upstate New York and Indianapolis, Indiana. In 2008, he joined a farm credit system in Columbia, South Carolina, before pursuing his legal studies. He believes his seven years in banking and finance provide him with a distinctive perspective and a practical approach to serving his clients.

Beyond his legal endeavors, Mr. Paavola is a pillar in his community, serving as board president of the Central South Carolina Habitat for Humanity. He actively participates in the Richland County Bar Association. He has earned an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell, along with a "Very Good" score on Avvo.
