--A Former 9th Circuit Solicitor Attorney Working For You--
A co-founder of Charleston, South Carolina-based Young & Young, Attorneys at Law, Adam D. Young divides his practice between criminal defense, personal injury and wrongful death cases. Admitted to practice before all South Carolina state courts, he has received a great deal of recognition from his fellow professionals for his successful track record and high degree of ethics, including an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo. In addition, Mr. Young has been named to both The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 Under 40 and The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Young was an assistant prosecutor with the Office of the Solicitor for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Charleston, with his caseload consisting initially of domestic violence charges and then expanding to violent crimes as well as drug possession and trafficking. This experience has enabled him to anticipate the types of tactics that he now faces in his representation of defendants. In addition to the foregoing types of charges, Mr. Young's cases in his defense practice have included weapons violations, fraud, robbery and driving under the influence of alcohol. His personal injury work has encompassed motor vehicle crashes and premises liability.
Mr. Young is a graduate of James Madison University, where he majored in marketing information systems and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2004. Remaining in Virginia, he then went on to attend the Appalachian School of Law, and he served summer internships with both the United States Attorney's Office for the District of South Carolina and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service before being awarded his Juris Doctor in 2008. In addition to his private practice, Mr. Young also serves as a prosecutor for the City of Folly Beach.
