Michael J. Brickman

Attorney Michael J. Brickman is a founding member of Rogers, Patrick, Westbrook & Brickman, LLC, in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Widely regarded as one of the leading trial advocates in the country, Mr. Brickman has achieved considerable success fighting for the rights and entitlements of plaintiff clients throughout the state, across the nation and around the world in a variety of high-stakes, complex civil litigation matters.

Throughout the course of his more than 41 years practicing law, Mr. Brickman has focused his practice primarily on advocating for workers who have suffered injury or loss as a result of dangerous products and work environments. He has gained extensive experience handling asbestos exposure cases for workers across the globe, and he obtained a verdict of more than $250 million for a client who developed mesothelioma from his job.

In addition, Mr. Brickman has fought on behalf of consumers adversely affected by corrupt and questionable business activities, including price-fixing and antitrust matters. He has also represented the rights and interests of ordinary investors with legal claims involving excessive fees, inaccurate premium calculations, market rigging and bad faith coverage issues. Moreover, he has successfully handled numerous medical malpractice and pharmaceutical malpractice claims, and he served as counsel in tobacco-related liability litigation as well as multidistrict litigation against oil companies and gas stations for negligent business practices.

He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, the District of Colorado, the Eastern District of Wisconsin and the Northern District of Florida. He also holds his admission to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th, 7th, 9th and 11th Circuits and the U.S. and South Carolina Supreme Courts.
