Darcy M. Compton

Darcy M. Compton is a dedicated workers’ compensation attorney with Cavanaugh & Thickens, LLC, an award-winning personal injury and workers’ compensation law firm based in Columbia, South Carolina. Since joining the firm in early 2024, she has been instrumental in expanding its workers’ compensation practice, helping injured employees across Columbia, Charleston and throughout the state secure the benefits and justice they deserve.

After earning both her B.A. and J.D. from the University of South Carolina, Ms. Compton began her legal career on the defense side – representing insurance carriers in workers’ compensation matters. Although that role sharpened her knowledge of complex state and federal regulations, she discovered her true calling lay in advocating for individual claimants. Driven by a passion for public policy and community service, she transitioned to representing injured workers, where she could make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

A native of Greenwood now proudly based in Columbia, Ms. Compton is active in the South Carolina Bar and its Young Lawyers Division. She volunteers as a guardian ad litem with RCCASA and serves on the Moot Court Bar Alumni Volunteer committee at the USC School of Law. 

Outside the office, Ms. Compton champions mental health and wellness initiatives, stays informed on local and state issues, and supports small businesses in her community. With a blend of technical competence, genuine compassion and a commitment to her clients, she stands ready to guide injured workers through every step of the claims process.
