He has been a licensed practicing member of the South Carolina Bar since 1973. Mr.Swerling has held various positions including a Bar Examiner, a member of the Board of Grievances and Discipline, President of the South Carolina Bar Foundation, and he is currently a member of the Chief Justice's Commission on the Legal Profession
