Ramie Shalabi

Ramie Shalabi is a founding partner of Dayson Shalabi Burkett Law Firm, LLC, in Columbia, South Carolina, where he concentrates his practice on personal injury, workers’ compensation and criminal defense. He zealously advocates for injured workers and motorists – from construction laborers to health care professionals and educators – ensuring they secure the maximum compensation to which they are entitled. 

In recognition of his outstanding dedication to injured claimants, Mr. Shalabi was honored as one of The Best Lawyers in America for Workers’ Compensation Law – Claimant in 2021. His work ethic was forged early – he began his first job at age 14 in a local grocery store and has maintained a steadfast commitment to hard work ever since. He earned his Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude in political science from the University of South Carolina, coupled with a minor in business administration. 

Mr. Shalabi then pursued his Juris Doctor at Wake Forest University School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Wake Forest Journal of Law and Policy. During law school, he gained practical experience through internships at the Richland County Solicitor’s Office, BB&T’s in-house legal department and the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Middle District of North Carolina. 

Upon graduation, Mr. Shalabi returned to the Solicitor’s Office as a full-time prosecutor, honing his courtroom skills over hundreds of hours before judges and juries and prosecuting matters ranging from property offenses to attempted murder. It was there that he first crossed paths with his future law partner.

Following his tenure as a prosecutor, Mr. Shalabi joined a prominent insurance defense firm, where he defended some of the world’s largest insurers. Leveraging insights from that role, he now employs the same strategies to challenge insurance companies on behalf of his clients. 

Since focusing exclusively on representing injured individuals, Mr. Shalabi has secured multimillion-dollar recoveries and finds his greatest reward in improving clients’ lives. For him, practicing law is not merely a profession but a calling – one he pursues with diligence, integrity and steady compassion.
