Dirk J. Derrick

The founder of the firm Derrick Law Firm Injury Lawyers, PC, Dirk J. Derrick, has been practicing law in South Carolina for over 30 years. With years of experience, he has the practical knowledge and skill set to offer excellent legal representation in cases involving motorcycle accidents, workers' compensation, denied insurance claims, car accidents, nursing home neglect, spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries.

Upon graduating from Wofford College with a bachelor’s degree in economics, Mr. Derrick went on to enroll at the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law to hone his legal skills. He gained his Juris Doctor in 1987 and earned his license to practice law in South Carolina in the following year. His success gave him the opportunity to become a partner within three years of admission to the bar. Since 1991, he has defended clients throughout the state through his firm and has obtained seven-figure settlements and verdicts as compensation for his clients.

His membership with the American Association for Justice allows Mr. Derrick to actively participate in the legal profession. As a believer of contributing to one’s community, he has long supported the Children’s Mentoring Program of Horry County and sponsored an interstate football tournament. In 2019, he established the "Get Seen, Get Paid" scholarship in honor of his father, which helps student-athletes attend camps to earn college recruiting opportunities. He is also a co-founder of The Rock Church in Conway and has authored several guides on South Carolina injury claims.
