After growing up in Fort Mill, South Carolina, Mr. Martin graduated from The Citadel in 1987. He then attended Mercer University School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1991. He served in the U.S. Army from 1991 to 1994, as a Captain in the 82nd Airborne Division handling courts martial and other administrative hearings.  He is admitted to practice in all state courts in South Carolina, Georgia, and before the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.

Mr. Martin is a member of the South Carolina Bar and its Workers' Compensation Section as well as the State Bar of Georgia, the Injured Workers' Advocates and the Greenville County Bar Association.
