Mr. Moorman's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in political science from Furman University in 1998, followed by a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2001. During law school, he contributed to the South Carolina Law Review and earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for his work on legal and equitable remedies. Admitted to practice in South Carolina, Kentucky, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, he has also been invited to share his insights through training sessions for other legal professionals.

- Successfully defended a client the Department of Justice charged in a multi-count indictment, alleging wire fraud, related to the multi-billion dollar, failed construction of two nuclear power plants in Jenkinsville, South Carolina. In August of 2023, a federal judge dismissed the case. The Government reindicted the client, and the client pled guilty to a single, greatly reduced charge, and he awaits sentencing, 2023
- Successfully defended a client charged in state court with possessing approximately 200 pounds of marijuana in a car he was driving. The client did not have to spend one day in the South Carolina Department of Corrections, 2023
- Successfully defended a foster father charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct of a minor involving his adopted daughter. Case dismissed, 2022
- Successfully defended a private zoo owner the Department of Justice charged in a multi-count indictment alleging federal money laundering and endangered species violations. The client pled guilty to only two, greatly reduced charges and is awaiting sentencing, 2023
- Successfully represented an American citizen and Chinese Corporation which the Department of Justice charged with wire fraud in connection with the shipment of durable medical equipment to Medicare Beneficiaries. The Government alleged that these violations led to losses in the millions. Both the individual and the corporation pled guilty to a single, greatly reduced charge., 2022
