Batten Farrar

R. Batten Farrar is a personal injury litigation attorney at the Derrick Law Firm Injury Lawyers in Greenville, SC. His practice is dedicated to the representation of those that have suffered significant harms and injuries. Batten has experience handling a wide-variety of significant and high-worth cases, involving permanent personal injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and wrongful death matters arising from automobile collisions, commercial truck and tow truck wrecks, animal attacks, and dangerous building conditions and hazards.

Prior to joining Derrick Law Firm Injury Lawyers, Batten handled insurance defense cases at two very well-respected regional defense firms. During that time, he became very familiar with how insurance companies evaluate and handle claims. He understands that trying to navigate the insurance claims process and legal system, especially while trying to heal from a significant harm or injury, is overwhelming and can be frustrating. He values the opportunity to counsel and advocate for his clients through these difficult events. 

Batten grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, attending Sara Collins and Christ Church. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia, where he met his now wife, and then attended the University of South Carolina School of Law. He has been recognized in Greenville Business Magazine’s annual “Legal Elite” awards from 2016-2023 (SC - Construction Defect and Construction Litigation) and as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” from 2017-2021 (SC - Personal Injury). He serves on the Board of Directors for Fall for Greenville.
