Casey M. Martens

Casey Martens works in both our Greenville, SC and our Brevard, NC offices. She earned her BA in English Literature from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2002, magna cum laude, before heading to the South. After a career in restaurant management, she graduated cum laude in 2016 from Charleston School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia.

Casey represents employers and workers in employment matters, as well as business and intellectual property disputes.

In her employment practice, Casey draws from over a decade of small-business restaurant management experience to bring a deep, practical, informed perspective to the table when counseling small businesses on their employment practices and litigating individuals’ employment claims. Casey drafts and reviews contracts and employment policies and procedures, advises on compliance with state and federal law, and counsels on and litigates worker classification, wage and hour, employment discrimination, and other employment-related claims.

Casey’s business practice involves resolving business disputes in the areas of trademark and trade secret, unfair trade practices, breach of contract, defamation, and other civil claims for her clients. She takes a practical approach to litigation, seeking early resolution when possible, and litigating through trial when necessary.
