Jay Anthony

Based in Greenville, but with a practice throughout the Upstate of South Carolina, Jay Anthony is highly regarded for his skill in personal injury litigation, appellate law, construction law, and business litigation. With over a decade and a half of experience, he has gained a reputation as one of the top general civil litigators in Greenville and has handled a wide variety of cases from product defect to large construction cases to complex personal injury matters.

Originally from Spartanburg, Mr. Anthony obtained his bachelor’s degree in English and Political Science from Furman University. He then attended the University of South Carolina School of Law and, upon graduation, served as a law clerk for Justice Costa M. Pleicones on the Supreme Court of South Carolina. Jay then practiced with civil litigation and construction law firms before beginning his own practice in 2020.

Jay has been repeatedly recognized by his peers as one of the top civil litigators in the Upstate.  He has been listed in prominent lawyer rankings including Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers.  He has also been named to Greenville Business Magazine's Legal Elite in the areas of personal injury, construction law, insurance law, and business litigation, all based on the votes of other lawyers. 

Jay prides himself on providing personal attention to cases and clients, in contrast to the TV lawyers and high-volume practices seen on billboards. He is also a lawyer willing to litigate cases.  Jay always has numerous cases in the court system, has tried numerous cases to jury verdict, and has handled appeals at all levels of the South Carolina appellate court system.

In the community, Jay serves as the president of the Haynsworth-Perry Inn of Court, is founder and chair of Friends of Cleveland Park, serves as a Cub Scout leader, and is a regional chair for the South Carolina Bar Fee Dispute Board.
