Attorney Profile

Ryan S. Montgomery is the founder of Ryan Montgomery Law, LLC. Based in Greenville, South Carolina, he divides his practice between workers’ compensation matters and personal injury and wrongful death litigation, representing clients throughout the region. Mr. Montgomery majored in speech and communications as an undergraduate at Clemson University and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1997. He then went on to pursue his legal education at the University of Baltimore School of Law, and before he was awarded his Juris Doctor in 2000, he spent a year as a visiting student at the Georgetown University Law Center.

In his workers’ compensation practice, Mr. Montgomery represents people who have been injured on the job or who have contracted an occupational disease due to toxic exposure or other factors. At the outset, he assists them with the preparation of the required claim, helping to ensure that it contains all of the required documentation and that it is filed in a timely manner. In the event that the claim is disputed or denied, Mr. Montgomery provides advocacy on their behalf at subsequent appeals hearings or in court.

Mr. Montgomery’s personal injury client base is made up of people who have been harmed as a result of the negligence of other parties. The types of cases that he has handled have included motor vehicle crashes, premises liability, defective products, medical malpractice, and sexual assault, and he has obtained millions of dollars in compensation for his clients through both jury awards and settlements that he has negotiated out of court.

Mr. Montgomery is held in high regard by his fellow attorneys, as attested to by his AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and his 10.0 peer review rating through Avvo. He is admitted to practice in South Carolina, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
