Samuel C. Bauer

Samuel C. Bauer is a trial lawyer committed to representing the people residing in various parts of South Carolina through Bauer & Metro, P.C., in Hilton Head Island. Focusing his practice entirely on protecting people and their rights, he takes on cases involving personal injury, criminal defense, medical malpractice and toxic tort.

Practicing law in the state of South Carolina since 1992, Mr. Bauer has served as counsel in a few of the most complex trials in the federal and state courts in the state. With almost 30 years of experience, he is recognized as a leading attorney when it comes to DUI defense and has helped numerous clients get their licenses reinstated. He understands the impact a DUI case can have on an individual’s life and thoroughly reviews all the evidence and challenges any unreliable testing methods to build a strong defense case.

A graduate of Spring Hill College, Mr. Bauer obtained his bachelor’s degree in political science and government in 1988. He enrolled in the University of Alabama School of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 1991 and was authorized by the South Carolina Bar to practice law a year later.

Along with holding a "Very Good" rating on Avvo, Mr. Bauer received the Best Attorney Reader’s Choice Award consecutively for a few years from two premier magazines, the Hilton Head Island Packet and the Hilton Head Monthly Magazine.

Currently serving as the president of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Mr. Bauer is a long-standing member of several other professional organizations such as the South Carolina Association for Justice, the Beaufort County Bar Association, the National College for DUI Defense and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
