Ashby Jones

Ashby Jones is an attorney at the law firm of Ashby Jones and Associates LLC, located in Lexington, South Carolina, and primarily serves clients in Lexington County and the Columbia metro area. Ms. Jones completed her undergraduate studies in 1995, graduating magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Presbyterian College. She went on to attend the University of South Carolina – Joseph F. Rice School of Law, where she took part in many activities and student organizations to bolster her shrewd legal acumen and talents to help her clients today. She received her Juris Doctor in 1998, as well as her license to practice law in South Carolina the same year. Furthermore, she is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. 

Ms. Jones has been recognized with numerous honors and awards, including being named one of the Legal Elite of the Midlands by Columbia Business Monthly and among The Best Lawyers in America. She was honored with the 2022 University of South Carolina Compleat Lawyer Award, celebrating her civic accomplishments and her contributions to the legal circle. 

Ms. Jones is also recognized with a "Superb" Avvo rating. Moreover, she is recognized as a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and is board-certified in family law by the National Board of Trial Advocates. She has also received an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell.

In addition to her legal work, Ms. Jones is a regular contributor to Lexington Woman Magazine and has authored articles for the South Carolina Association for Justice Bulletin. In 2022, she was inducted into the charter chapter of The South Carolina Family Law American Inn of Court as a Master. Ms. Jones serves as the Family Law Section chair of the South Carolina Association for Justice and holds a position on the board of directors for the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association.

Moreover, Ms. Jones was appointed by the Chief Justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court as a lawyer-neutral member of the Commission on Alternative Dispute Resolution in 2022. She also serves on the advisory board for the Lexington District One Center for Law and Global Policy Development. In addition, Ms. Jones frequently speaks at continuing legal education seminars.
