Attorney Profile

The founder of Blazer Law Firm, Cameron J. Blazer always knew what she wanted to do – protect the rights of people. She does this every day, serving people in South Carolina who have been charged with, or convicted of, committing a crime. Having worked as a line cook, a computer programmer and an academic advisor before embarking on a legal career, Ms. Blazer understands the needs and concerns of others. A dedicated advocate, she is always looking out for their best interests and is there when they need someone to talk to.

Prior to going into private practice, Ms. Blazer served as a federal public defender. The knowledge and skills she gained in this position enable her to handle any criminal case including the following: driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, meth manufacturing, assault with intent to kill, Medicaid fraud, indecent exposure, attempted murder, drug trafficking, tax evasion, criminal sexual conduct, domestic violence, identity theft and child pornography. In addition to criminal defense, Ms. Blazer assists clients with post-conviction relief and appeals, and provides other attorneys with consulting services in trial and sentencing issues. She is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Her work outside her practice shows that Ms. Blazer is always looking for ways to serve others. She writes for The Huffington Post as a contributor; serves as chair for the Jefferson Awards Foundation’s Lowcountry advisory board; and is a former member, and current emeritus board member, of the board of directors of the PURE Theatre. In 1997, Ms. Blazer graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina. She then earned a law degree from Charleston School of Law, again graduating magna cum laude.
