Rob Corney

Currently serving as the managing partner at Derrick Law Firm Injury Lawyers, PC, in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Rob Corney is an established attorney advocating for clients in matters of insurance law and personal injury law. With his extensive experience litigating several high-stakes cases, including premises liability, products liability, nursing home neglect and abuse, among others. He is committed to providing quality legal service throughout the Conway and Mount Pleasant areas.

After graduating from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in insurance and risk management, Mr. Corney pursued his legal studies at Charleston School of Law. While at law school, he served as a law clerk at a law firm in South Carolina, gaining early exposure to the legal system. He earned his Juris Doctor in 2010 and in the same year was admitted to practice law in South Carolina. Upon gaining admission, he served as an assistant attorney general at the South Carolina Attorney General's Office.

Before transitioning into personal injury law, Mr. Corney worked as an insurance defense attorney for eight years. His acumen for insurance and his extensive experience in insurance defense allow him to understand the complexities of how insurance companies value claims and he uses that knowledge to help his clients. He strategically leveraged to anticipate the opposing party's position, understand their risk tolerance, and effectively negotiate for suitable outcomes.
