Chip Cannon

As an accomplished trial lawyer and founder of the Cannon Law Firm in North Charleston, South Carolina, Chip Cannon represents clients throughout Charleston and the surrounding Lowcountry. His practice is primarily focused on personal injury law, including auto accidents, truck accidents, medical malpractice and wrongful death. He also maintains a criminal defense practice.

Earning his bachelor’s degree from The Citadel, Mr. Cannon went on to study law at the Charleston School of Law, graduating with his Juris Doctor in 2013. The same year, he passed the bar and was licensed to practice in all state courts throughout South Carolina. He is admitted before the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina and the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.

An active contributor to the legal community, Mr. Cannon maintains memberships with various legal organizations such as the:

Mr. Cannon has gained an extensive background as a trial advocate in both civil and criminal courts. His prior experiences include working as an attorney for a large insurance defense firm, where he defended and mitigated personal injury and construction defect claims. This allowed him to gain valuable insight in the personal injury claims process.  He then worked as a prosecutor, trying several cases to jury verdict; the cases he handled ranged from DUIs and assaults to criminal domestic violence, drug trafficking and armed robbery.  He has tried cases to verdicts in both civil and criminal courts.  

Mr. Cannon's practice is now focused on helping those who have been injured or criminally charged.  Rated “Good” on Avvo, Mr. Cannon is a dedicated and compassionate attorney with a strong work ethic.
