Tom Killoren, Jr.

An attorney at KD Trial Lawyers, Thomas A. "Tom" Killoren Jr. focuses his practice exclusively on personal injury and wrongful death litigation. Based in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and admitted to practice before all South Carolina state courts, he represents clients throughout the state, and as he is also admitted to practice in North Carolina, Georgia and Illinois, he works with clients in those jurisdictions as well. In addition, Mr. Killoren is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina.

Mr. Killoren provides advice and counsel to people who have suffered economic and noneconomic harm due to the negligence or recklessness of other parties. The types of cases that he has worked on have arisen out of incidents involving defective products, nursing home abuse, motor vehicle accidents and premises liability.

During his distinguished career, Mr. Killoren has been able to obtain several sizable jury verdicts and negotiated settlements for his plaintiff clients. In one premises liability case, he obtained a settlement in excess of $2.3 million for a man who was paralyzed after diving into a swimming pool, and in a wrongful death case, the surviving spouse of a bicyclist who was killed by a distracted truck driver received $3.15 million. These and other successes have led to Mr. Killoren's receipt of an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo. He is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College, Mr. Killoren obtained his legal education at The John Marshall Law School and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1994. His professional affiliations include the South Carolina Association for Justice and the Spartanburg County Bar Association.
