Kelly Burnside

Kelly Burnside is the founder and owner of Burnside Law Firm, LLC, in West Columbia, South Carolina. Her motto—“Putting Personal Back into Personal Injury.”—guides every aspect of her practice.  She is dedicated to helping individuals and families across South Carolina navigate challenging legal issues. Her practice focuses on workers’ compensation, personal injury, Social Security Disability, estate planning and probate. She also represents clients in product liability claims, ensuring that those harmed by defective or unsafe products have a strong advocate on their side.

Ms. Burnside is committed to protecting the rights of injured workers and accident victims, standing up for people when they are at their most vulnerable. She understands that these cases often involve not only financial strain but also physical and emotional hardship. Her compassionate yet determined approach allows her to guide clients through the legal process with confidence, whether negotiating fair settlements or taking matters to court when necessary.

Before establishing her own firm, Ms. Burnside earned her Bachelor of Applied Science degree in finance from the University of South Carolina–Columbia. She studied law at the University of South Carolina School of Law, graduating in 2013. After passing the bar exam, she was admitted to practice in 2014. Her background in finance gives her unique insight into the economic challenges her clients face and allows her to craft strategies that address both their immediate and long-term needs.

Active in the legal community, Ms. Burnside is a member of Injured Worker’s Advocates, the South Carolina Association for Justice, the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association, the South Carolina Bar and the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. These memberships reflect her dedication to professional excellence and to staying informed on developments that impact her clients.
