Robert M. Ronayne

Robert M. Ronayne is a managing shareholder and an attorney at Ronayne Law Office, based in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He focuses his practice on estate planning, personal injury law, corporate and business law, real estate, and probate and wills in the Brown County area in South Dakota.

With almost 37 years of experience, Mr. Ronayne is board-certified by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils as an estate planning law specialist. He completed his bachelor’s degree in speech communication and rhetoric and political science from the University of South Dakota in 1981. He completed his doctorate in jurisprudence in 1985 at the University of Virginia School of Law.

Mr. Ronayne is admitted to practice law before the United States District Court for the District of South Dakota and the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. He was on the board of directors of the Aberdeen Area Career Planning Center and the Farmers State Bank, and the chairman of the Plains Commerce Bank in South Dakota.

Mr. Ronayne was elected to serve as a member of the Aberdeen City Council in 2013 and continues to serve in that capacity.  He has been elected by his peers to serve as Deputy Mayor for a majority of years of service on the council.

A member of the State Bar of South Dakota, Mr. Ronayne is affiliated with the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Northern State University and was the vice president of the Brown County Bar Association.
