Steven C. Beardsley

An accomplished civil trial attorney, Steven C. Beardsley is a partner at Beardsley Jensen & Lee. From the firm's office in Rapid City, South Dakota, he provides representation to people and companies throughout the state and neighboring regions. A large part of Mr. Beardsley's practice is centered on personal injury and wrongful death litigation, including cases arising out of incidents involving motor vehicle crashes, defective products, premises liability and workplace accidents. He has provided representation to both plaintiffs and defendants in these types of matters.

Mr. Beardsley also has an active business and commercial trial practice, encompassing cases involving noncompete agreements, wrongful termination and antitrust. His real estate experience includes the enforcement of finder's fee agreements, and he has handled several construction defect and fraud lawsuits. In addition, Mr. Beardsley has provided defense representation to insurance companies who are being sued for bad faith and other coverage issues. A South Dakota native, Mr. Beardsley attended South Dakota State University as an undergraduate and received a Bachelor of Science in 1975. He then pursued his legal education at the University of South Dakota School of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1978. Admitted to practice in South Dakota, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of South Dakota, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 8th, 9th and Federal Circuits. Mr. Beardsley is an active participant in several American Bar Association committees, and his other memberships include the American Association for Justice.
