Timothy J. Rensch

RENSCH LAW Office, A PROFESSIONAL LAW CORPORATION was founded by Timothy J. Rensch in Rapid City, South Dakota.  Mr. Rensch is a well known South Dakota trial lawyer with over three decades of experience.  He is the only lawyer in the history of South Dakota to be named The South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association Trial Lawyer of the Year and The South Dakota Criminal Defense Lawyers Association Outstanding Lawyer of the Year in the same year.  

Mr. Rensch tries jury cases in state and federal courts all across South Dakota.  He has won acquittals for Murder, Arson, Kidnapping, Rape, Assault, Theft, Sexual Contact, DUI, Embezzlement, Manslaughter, Drug Possession, Drug Conspiracy to name but a few.  He has also won higher court reversals/remands  for serious cases , to include Murder, Rape, Drug Conspiracy, and more.  In addition to trial and appellate work Mr. Rensch has worked on many other cases with required a local knowledge of the prosecutors, courts, and court personnel in order to effectuate favorable agreements in individually unique cases to the great benefit of his clients.  He is also the only Life Member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in South Dakota.  He knows the lay of the land.

Mr Rensch also tries personal injury cases and has collected millions of dollars for his clients between state and federal matters to include injury law, federal tort claims, wrongful death, and collision damages.

Mr. Rensch is also a fellow of the elite and extremely prestigious  American Board of Criminal Lawyers, as well as a past President of the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association.  He is also a twice former president of the Black Hills Criminal Defense Bar.  He is also an A rated attorney.

Mr. Rensch earned his law degree from the University of South Dakota School of Law, and is licensed by the South Dakota Supreme Court, The United States District Court for the District of South Dakota, The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
