Grant G. Alvine

Grant G. Alvine is a distinguished trial lawyer and founding partner of Alvine Law Firm, LLP, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, whose career spans more than 33 years of devoted service to seriously injured plaintiffs. His practice area encompasses personal injury matters such as car accidents and truck crashes, among many others. His courtroom prowess has been recognized in the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers in America.

Since earning his J.D. from the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law in 1992 and gaining admission to the South Dakota Bar that same year, Mr. Alvine has built a reputation for achieving multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of clients who have suffered life-altering harm in automobile, motorcycle, and semi-truck collisions, as well as in wrongful death and products liability matters. 

A lifelong South Dakotan, Mr. Alvine credits his deep understanding of human anatomy – shaped by a family of orthopedic surgeons – with enhancing his ability to evaluate and present complex injury cases. Preferring the practice of law to medicine, he began his legal career as a clerk for the 5th Judicial Circuit in Aberdeen before honing his advocacy skills as a prosecutor in the Minnehaha County State’s Attorney’s Office in Sioux Falls. In 2001, he further refined his trial technique at Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, Wyoming.

An active member of the South Dakota Bar Association, the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association, the Minnesota Bar Association and the American Bar Association, Mr. Alvine remains committed to elevating the standards of trial practice and securing justice for those who have suffered devastating injuries – from hydraulic-hoist failures and deck-collapse incidents to elevator malfunctions and catastrophic motor vehicle accidents.
