As a founding partner at Fort, Holloway, & Saylor, LLC, in Franklin, Michael Fort provides dedicated legal support to individuals and families throughout Tennessee. He solely focuses his practice on family law, where he handles a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, custody litigation, child support disputes, alimony disputes, asset division conflicts, uncontested divorce proceedings and neglect cases.
With over two decades of experience, Mr. Fort is committed to helping clients manage emotionally and financially complicated legal challenges with clarity and confidence. He represents clients in both contested and uncontested proceedings, advocating for their interests during negotiations and in court. Whether guiding families through amicable solutions or handling high-conflict disputes, he approaches each case with care and a focus on the client.
Academically, Mr. Fort graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 2001. Later, he went on to pursue his legal studies at the Nashville School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2006. While in law school, he received the Thomas H. Shriver Scholarship Award in recognition of his academic achievements.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Fort served as a law clerk in the 21st Judicial District Judges’ Office in Franklin. This experience provided him with valuable insight into judicial decision-making and courtroom procedure, which continues to inform his strategic approach to family law cases.
Licensed to practice law in Tennessee in 2006, Mr. Fort remains active in the legal community. He is a member of The Tennessee John Marshall American Inn of Court and the Williamson County Bar Association. In recognition of his many contributions to the legal community, he has received an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell, the organization’s highest distinction.
