Mr. Garza is wholly embedded with his clients when dealing with their legal matter. Having served as a Captain and Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corp, he knows that to reap the biggest rewards, he has to be the hardest worker in the room. He provides top-notch advocacy and works every angle of a case to identify flaws in the opposition’s defense. Practicing for over 20 years, he has been through a plethora of scenarios and has been recognized for his judiciousness.
After graduating in 1996 with his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Vanderbilt University, Mr. Garza enrolled at the University of Tennessee-Nashville College of Social Work and obtained his Masters of Science degree in social work in 1998. Later, he attended the University of Tennessee College of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 2001.
After completing his military service, Mr. Garza opened up his law firm to provide justice to people who need it the most. Licensed to practice in Tennessee, he is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee and the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.
Mr. Garza completed the Ultimate Trial Advocacy Course by the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and other courses related to DUIs and forensic science from the American Chemistry Society. Never one to be satisfied with the knowledge gained, he has spent hundreds of hours of learning in prestigious organizations such as the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College, Impaired Driving Specialists, LLC, Axion Analytical Laboratories, Inc., the Arkansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and many more.
Within his legal community, there is tacit agreement of Mr. Garza’s strong leadership skills and client advocacy. He has been recognized by many of his peers, as well as by a variety of legal organizations, from being peer-review rated AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell and rated a perfect “10.0” on Avvo to being included in the Top 100 Trial Lawyers list by The National Trial Lawyers and recognized as one of the 14 Best Criminal Defense Lawyers according to Newsweek Magazine.
