A well-seasoned attorney with more than a decade of experience, Nathaniel Ogle serves as a partner attorney at Burks & Ogle, in Knoxville, Tennessee. A former prosecutor, he currently serves his clients in the areas of criminal defense, family law and personal injury. Handling cases throughout East Tennessee and beyond, he is reputed as a fearless advocate who works relentlessly for his clients’ rights.
At the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Mr. Ogle completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2010. He went on to graduate from the Appalachian School of Law with his J.D. in 2013. During his time as a law student, he clerked at the Tennessee 6th District Attorney General’s Office – scoring him hands-on experience in narcotic and DUI prosecution. For about eight years, he served as an assistant district attorney at the Knox County District Attorney General’s Office before moving into private practice in 2022.
During his time as a prosecutor, Mr. Ogle worked closely on several cases involving sexual offenses, internet crimes and homicide. Having personally tried more than 50 jury trials, he has garnered the experience and acumen to strategize strong defenses for his clients and support them with the talent and compassion it takes to guide them through their journey.
In addition to his practice, Mr. Ogle is an adjunct professor at Lincoln Memorial University, where he teaches trial practice to law students. He maintains active affiliations with several prominent organizations, such as the Tennessee Bar Association, the Hamilton Burnett Inns of Court, the Federalist Society and the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also on the Knoxville Bar Association’s Judicial Committee and is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Leadership Law Class of 2025.
His stellar track record and recognitions stand as testament to Mr. Ogle’s legacy in the field of legal advocacy. He has been selected to the Cityview magazine’s Top Attorneys list, the National Trial Lawyers’ “Top 100 in Criminal Defense” list, and the National Trial Lawyers Association’s “Top 40 Under 40” and rated “Very Good” on Avvo.
