R. Seth Oakes

The sole practitioner at the Knoxville-based law firm Oakes Law Firm, PLC, attorney R. Seth Oakes takes on the responsibilities of the lead counsel and managing member. Spreading his practice across several fields of law, he concentrates on aiding his clients on issues with estate planning, probate and administration, along with matters regarding wills and trusts. He takes on cases majorly from Knoxville and the surrounding counties of Knox, Blount, Sevier and Loudon, in Tennessee.

Securing his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a focus on accounting in 2009, Mr. Oakes graduated from Lincoln Memorial University. In 2013, he completed his law studies at the Lincoln Memorial University – Duncan School of Law, obtaining his doctorate in jurisprudence. Apart from externing at the Eighth Judicial District of Tennessee during this period, he was also honored with the Lincoln Award in recognition of his volunteering efforts. 

Mr. Oakes’ academic background in business gives him an advantage while dealing with matters related to business planning. In addition, he has on-field experience with real estate transactions which gives him an edge over his competitors in handling matters including title work and deed preparation. He also exhibits competence in using technology to prepare documents and draft paper works.

Soon after graduating from law school, Mr. Oakes was licensed to practice in Tennessee. While practicing privately at a reputed firm in the state, he successfully tried and prevailed lawsuits including a few before the appellate courts. He is prompt in his communications with his clients and can comprehend even complex situations quickly and act adeptly according to them.
