Barry L. Frager, the managing partner of The Frager Law Firm, P.C., based in Nashville, Tennessee, is a well-established immigration attorney whose practice spans over three decades. With a litigation focus that constitutes 25% of his practice, Mr. Frager’s practice covers all of Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. 

Since earning his J.D. from The University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 1989, Mr. Frager has dedicated his career to navigating the complexities of immigration law. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science (1984) from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 1990, the District of Columbia in 1991 and the Arkansas Bar in 2012. 

Mr. Frager’s legal journey began in Los Angeles, California, where he served as a trial attorney for the United States Immigration & Naturalization Service through the Honors Law Graduate Program of the U.S. Department of Justice. This early experience provided him with invaluable insights into the intricacies of immigration procedures and policies.

In 1994, Mr. Frager returned to his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, to establish his own firm, which has since become a pivotal part of the community. Recognizing the need for specialized services, he expanded his practice by opening a second office in Nashville in 2003, which further grew in 2007.

Throughout his career, Mr. Frager has been actively involved with the Federal Bar Association, serving as the national chair of its Immigration Law Section from 2005 to 2011. His remarkable leadership skills were honored with the Outstanding Section Chair Award. He is also committed to educating fellow attorneys, and regularly organizing Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs on immigration law. It was also part of serving the Section as Chair for the following years:  2005, 2006, 2010, & 2011.  The Immigration Law Section of the FBA named it highest award given at the ILS Annual Award "the Barry Frager Award" for Service to the ILS., 2015
