As a senior partner at Rice, Amundsen & Caperton, PLLC, Larry Rice is dedicated to serving clients in Memphis, Tennessee, and throughout the state. He focuses his practice on family law, generally handling cases that involve divorce, child custody, child support, alimony and spousal support.

In 1970, Mr. Rice graduated from Rhodes College with a Bachelor of Arts in history and communication arts. He then went on to earn a Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 1976.

With close to 40 years of experience, Mr. Rice guides his clients through the complex challenges that can arise in family law matters. He takes a strategic and thoughtful approach to each case he handles. As a certified Family Law Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, Mr. Rice is committed to helping people and their families achieve favorable resolutions that address their short-term and long-term needs.

Certified by the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification Trial Advocacy, Mr. Rice has an Avvo “Superb” rating. He also has received the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys’ Client Satisfaction Award.

An active member of the legal community, Mr. Rice co-founded the Tennessee Bar Association’s Family Law Section and was founding chair of the Memphis Bar Association’s Family Law Section. He regularly shares his knowledge, lecturing at events for many organizations throughout North America, including a number of American Bar Association conventions. Mr. Rice has also authored books and articles on issues in his practice area, multiple editions including "The Complete Guide to Divorce Practice," currently its 30th anniversary edition.
