Justin grew up in rural, Maury County, Tennessee. It was there that he was branded with strong, small-town values like appreciating his community and always helping his neighbors. With this background, Justin was eager to pursue a career in which he could apply the same principles. He’d always had a fascination with the law, as well as the utmost respect for those who fought to protect and enforce it.
Justin eventually followed that interest to law school, where he finished third in his class and graduated with honors. During his first year of law school, Justin joined Rocky’s team as a law clerk. He quickly learned how ruthless and unreasonable insurance companies and big businesses can be. From day one at Rocky McElhaney Law Firm, Justin began realizing a passion for helping real people fight back against greedy corporations. To Justin, one of the most rewarding things about his job is getting the opportunity to guide folks through some of lives’ most challenging experiences and back to solid ground. He can’t imagine doing anything other than standing up for hard-working people who have been knocked down by injury or accident. Justin strives each and every day to use the law to help people and make the community safer.
Since working with the firm, he has brought in many six and seven-figure settlements for victims of serious and catastrophic injuries. He’s gone to battle for families who have lost loved ones in wrongful death cases. He has tirelessly fought shoulder-to shoulder with Rocky McElhaney to achieve numerous high-dollar trial verdicts in favor of our clients. As a result of his awesome efforts and the tough reputation he’s built under the Rocky McElhaney Law Firm brand, Justin has been awarded the distinction of Super Lawyers Rising Stars -Excellence in Practice, an exclusive honor which only captures the top 2.5% of all attorneys throughout Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama consecutively from 2016 to 2024. Justin was also recently honored with the National Trial Lawyers’ Association Top 40 Under 40 award for his industry experience, skill in practice, and demonstrated leadership at trial and in the field of Personal Injury.
Justin and his wife (who is also a lawyer), spend most of their free time trying to keep up with their daughter Charlotte and son Avett. Though Justin and his family are mostly suburbanites these days, if he had the choice, he’d do a little more “huntin’, fishin’ and lovin’ every day” (to quote Luke Bryan). Justin still keeps a torch lit for his outdoorsy- country upbringing, and still loves to canoe, go fishing, hike trails, and participate in mud volleyball tournaments every chance he gets. While he lives for the adventure of the weekends, he also adores a good routine. Justin is a work hard, play hard, and hit the hay by 10pm every night on the dot kind-of-guy. He’s still young enough to be “the cool dad,” but wise enough to teach his children some of the finer ways to live good life, like: enjoying everything in moderation, being good at money management (he has a degree in Finance) and listening to good music in great company.
