Alfonso J. Herrera

Attorney Alfonso J. Herrera is a gifted trial attorney with countless trial wins, hundreds of cases settled, and millions of dollars recovered for his clients. Herrera is an expert in personal injury law. He has successfully litigated against individuals, insurance companies, and businesses, in both state and federal courts, winning favorable verdicts and judgments in numerous courts throughout Texas. He is passionate, relentless, but surgical in his trial practice. Since 2016, Herrera has remarkably won over 90% of his trials.  

Herrera is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Only 1% of Texas attorneys have earned this distinction. The talented trial lawyer has repeatedly been recognized as a "Rising Star" and a "Super Lawyer" by the Texas Super Lawyers magazine which recognizes only 2.5% of Texas attorneys with this honor. Herrera was featured and published in its 2024 Fall edition. Additionally, his accomplishments have been published in Texas Monthly magazine. D magazine also decorated Herrera as a "Best Lawyer Under 40" in its January 2018 edition, highlighting his bio and achievements. Moreover, he was branded a "Top 40 Under 40 Civil Trial Attorney" and a "Top 100 Civil Trial Attorney" by The National Trial Lawyers organization. Additionally, Latino Leaders magazine deemed Herrera a "Top Latino Lawyer" in its November 2023 edition where he was interviewed and published in the spread. Only 50 lawyers in the country were chosen for this special honor. Herrera has also been selected as a “Top Trial Lawyer in America" by the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. This is one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won a million dollar verdict or settlement. Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members. 

In law school, Herrera was a Merit Scholar, and received a CALI highest grade award. He represented his law school in trial advocacy competition against other law schools as a member of the highly coveted AAJ trial advocacy team.  Additionally, Herrera was inducted into the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honors Society for his high marks in law school. As an undergraduate, Herrera maintained honor roll while playing Division I soccer. He attributes much of his competitive nature in the courtroom to the focus, hard work, and fighting spirit he displayed in soccer stadiums across the country. Herrera double-majored in Psychology and Spanish receiving honors distinctions in both.
