Over the course of his career, Mr. Roark has represented many high-profile public figures, prominent politicians, judges and attorneys, professional and college athletes, and people from all walks of life. A former prosecutor with the Travis County Attorney’s Office, he has invaluable insight into the criminal justice system from both sides, enabling him to devise the most effective defense strategies possible for those facing charges for DWI, sexual assault, drug crimes, white collar crimes, Title IX violations and more.
Recognized for his impeccable professionalism and exceptional legal abilities, Mr. Roark holds an AV Preeminent peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell in addition to the numerous other accolades and awards he has received. Widely regarded as a leader in criminal law, he served a long tenure as a member of the adjunct legal faculty at The University of Texas School of Law, where he instructed aspiring law students on effective trial advocacy practices.
A 1992 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Mr. Roark obtained his Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School in 1995. The State Bar of Texas admitted him to practice that same year, and he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
Active in his legal community, he is a member of both the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Austin Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and he served several years on the Texas Bar District 9 – 1 Grievance Committee, ultimately serving as chair for three of those years.
