Brian P. Casey

Brian P. Casey is a member of Casey Law Group in Austin, Texas. Admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, he focuses his practice on business litigation, transactional matters, construction disputes and corporate law. 

Over more than two decades, Mr. Casey has developed proficiency in every phase of litigation – discovery, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, trial and appeal. He advises clients on business law, drafting and negotiating agreements to protect their commercial interests.

Mr. Casey has authored continuing legal education articles and presented at legal seminars. He co-authored “Taking Cover: Preserving Error When Hit With a Claim for Punitive Damages” in the Baylor Law Review and contributed chapters on joint ventures, complex case management, and class action practice for the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Texas Association of Defense Counsel and the American Bar Association. He has also lectured on agency, vicarious liability, pretrial motions and jury selection at programs hosted by the University of Houston Law Foundation and the Austin Bar Association.

An academic scholar, Mr. Casey earned his J.D. summa cum laude from South Texas College of Law in 1995, where he served on the South Texas Law Review and received his B.A. from the University of Texas in 1992. Prior to relocating to Austin in 2006, he practiced in Houston and Dallas for 11 years, including six years with an international law firm. 

Mr. Casey tried cases and handled appeals, securing jury verdicts and favorable appellate decisions in matters involving contract disputes, fraud and securities claims, real estate and construction litigation, and the theft of trade secrets. In addition, he has received an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell.
