Elizabeth K. (Liz) Duggan

Elizabeth K. (Liz) Duggan is a passionate advocate for the rights of the accused and a staunch supporter of social justice. She is an associate attorney at the Austin-based law firm Cofer & Connelly, PLLC, in Texas. Her legal career is marked by a dedication to the comprehensive defense of her clients throughout the state.

Ms. Duggan obtained her undergraduate degree in sociology from Texas A&M University in 2017, followed by her Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, in 2021. She was admitted to the Texas bar that same year. Her law school achievements are numerous; she led as the chair of the board of advocates and contributed as an editorial member to The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Race and Social Justice.

Moreover, Ms. Duggan was distinguished as a recipient of the prestigious Order of Barristers. Complementing her academic pursuits, she gained valuable legal experience as a law clerk at the Hays County District Attorney's Office and as a legal intern at the Travis County District Attorney’s Office.

In addition to her law practice, Ms. Duggan is an active participant in several professional organizations, including the State Bar of Texas, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Austin Bar Association, the Austin Young Lawyers Association, the Bastrop County Bar Association and the Texas Aggie Bar Association.

She has also been honored with the President's Award of Merit from the Texas Young Lawyers Association.
