In addition, Mr. Rial routinely serves as outside counsel to businesses of various sizes in a variety of industries, and he has handled numerous arbitrations, mediations and appeals along with his extensive litigation practice.

    A 1983 graduate of Southwest Texas State University, Mr. Rial obtained his Juris Doctor in 1986 from Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law. While in law school, he was heavily involved with the Journal of Air Law & Commerce, serving as the publication's notes and comments editor. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for all districts in Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th and Federal Circuits, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and the Texas Supreme Court.

    Active in his legal community, he is a member of the Austin Bar Association, where he chairs the Judicial Affairs Committee, and he has served as chair and vice-chair of the Court Rules Committee of the State Bar of Texas. He is also a former member of the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association and the College of the State Bar of Texas.
