As partner at Brophy & Devaney, PLLC, Joseph F. Brophy has almost three decades of litigation and transactional experience and currently represents clients in Texas. His practice areas include family law, corporate work and transaction law, strategic counsel, FINRA arbitration, securities litigation, construction law, shareholder representation and litigation, commercial and residential real estate, labor and employment law, and civil and business litigation.
In 1989, Mr. Brophy graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. He then attended St. Mary’s University School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude with his Juris Doctor. While attending law school, he was a member of the John Harlan Academic Honor Society and Senior Associate Editor of St. Mary’s Law Journal.
A Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, Mr. Brophy has been named one of Texas’ Best Lawyers in several publications, including the following: The Wall Street Journal, the San Antonio Express-News, the Dallas Morning News and the Houston Chronicle. Named as one of America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators, he was also one of the Top 100 Lawyers in America named by Princeton Global Network.
Mr. Brophy is actively involved in a wide variety of legal organizations. These include The State Bar of Texas, the San Antonio Bar Association, the Austin Bar Association, the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. He also participates on several committees within those organizations and gives back to the community by volunteer with Volunteer Legal Services and with the Texas Bar Foundation.
