Julián Alejandro Ríos

Julián Alejandro Ríos is a litigation associate who joined the legal team at Ford O’Brien Landy LLP in Austin, Texas, in 2022. At the firm, Mr. Ríos's practice is primarily centered on complex commercial litigation within the firm's general white-collar practice. 

While at Ford O'Brien Landy, Mr. Ríos has worked on teams representing: 

• Individuals in a $250 million complex tort action against a publicly traded foreign corporation related to the assumption of assets and liabilities following the acquisition of a now-subsidiary. 
• Two foreign investment companies in a $20 million fraudulent transaction dispute against a brokerage firm and its members. 
• A former CEO against a now-publicly traded corporation regarding a commercial transaction dispute following the corporation's IPO. 
• A think-tank in connection with a DOJ investigation regarding the Foreign Agent Registration Act. 
• An online marketplace company in a breach of contract dispute against a media production company. 
• Individuals in a defamation lawsuit against a not-for-profit national hospital conglomerate. 

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Ríos honed his skills in administrative law and government compliance while working as an associate counsel at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, Office of Inspector General. His background is further enriched by his experience in intellectual property litigation and compliance.  And priorly, Mr. Ríos completed a fellowship in economic sanctions compliance in Washington, D.C. in 2018.

Educationally, Mr. Ríos's foundation in the sciences comes from his undergraduate degree in biology from St. Edward's University. He also holds a master’s degree in international relations with a security policy concentration from St. Mary's University, where he was honored as a distinguished graduate with honors.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Ríos is an avid explorer of Austin's vibrant music and food scenes. He enjoys outdoor activities such as paddle boarding and maintains an active lifestyle through workouts with his gym community.

Mr. Ríos's educational journey and bar admissions in Texas and New York, including the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas, and Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, complement his multi-faceted legal proficiency and commitment to the legal profession.
