Leigh de la Reza

With more than 20 years of experience, Leigh is devoted to her clients and consistently strives to reach favorable resolutions, whether through trial, settlement conference, or mediation. As a child of divorce, she brings both a personal understanding of the emotional and financial challenges families face and a distinctive talent for navigating complex issues with clarity and purpose.

Leigh has a particular strength in high-conflict cases and intricate property disputes. She has successfully litigated complex property cases and high-asset divorces involving the valuation and division of businesses, waste and fraud claims, and the reconstitution of estates where assets have been hidden or misappropriated. She has also prevailed in Daubert challenges to exclude opposing expert witnesses, successfully tried multiple family law cases before a jury, a rare distinction in the field, and has handled complex international child custody matters, including a Hague Convention case litigated in federal court.

Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2013, Leigh brings deep expertise and a long record of recognized excellence to every matter she handles. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (since 2017) and serves on its Executive Board. She is a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists (since 2013) and currently serves as its 2026 President. She is also a member of the International Academy of Family Lawyers, serves on the Executive Board of the Family Law Council of the State Bar of Texas, is a member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, and is Past-President of the Austin Bar Association Family Law Section.

Leigh is a frequent speaker at family law courses and seminars and serves as Editor of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists Board Certification Study Guide. She is the author of numerous family law articles and publications. Her professional achievements have earned her consistent recognition from the legal industry’s most respected ranking organizations, including Texas Rising Stars in 2015, Texas Super Lawyers annually since 2018, and Best Lawyers in America annually since 2019.

Leigh’s husband, Andre de la Reza, serves as Assistant Chief of the Austin Fire Department. Her familiarity with public safety careers and pension structures gives her a meaningful edge in representing fire, police, and EMS professionals navigating divorce. Their twin daughters, Rowan and Evelyn are graduates of Austin High School.
