Austin-born Ms. Shell embarked on her academic journey at the University of Denver, where she balanced a Division I Women's Basketball scholarship with her pursuit of a cum laude bachelor's degree in international studies. She became interested in how government and non-government groups work together on globalization's challenges in diplomacy, economy and security. Her interest often brought her to the law, which she saw as the best way to settle disputes fairly, igniting a strong passion in her.

During the summer, Ms. Shell traveled to Seville, Spain, to refine her Spanish abilities and expand her cultural insights. After completing her studies, she returned to Madrid, seizing the opportunity to teach English and observe a lawyer in civil litigation, thereby deepening her comprehension of how the law influences local conflicts.

Back in Austin, Ms. Shell continued her legal journey, interning at a civil litigation firm where she later clerked. She earned her J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2017, serving as an articles editor for the Texas Tech Law Review. Her studies also took her to Charles University in Prague, where she engaged in moot court competitions and examined global issues surrounding wrongful convictions.

Ms. Shell’s exposure to the challenges faced by underserved defendants in the U.S. propelled her to intern and work at the Texas Indigent Defense Commission. Though proud of her contributions to securing 6th Amendment rights for Texas defendants, her passion for advocacy led her back to civil litigation, where she thrives among a vibrant team at Wright & Greenhill, P.C.

A respected figure in the legal circle, Ms. Shell serves as a director of the Austin Young Lawyers Association. She also actively participates in the Austin Bar Association/AYLA Leadership Academy, the Texas Tech Alumni Association Austin Chapter, the Texas Association of Defense Counsel and the Austin Young Lawyers Association.
