Nisreen Bano Amiji

Nisreen Bano Amiji joined The Law Office of Ilana R. Tanner, PLLC, in Austin, Texas, in April 2023 as an associate attorney. A native Houstonian raised in a traditional Pakistani household, she brings a distinctive cross-cultural perspective and unwavering commitment to her work. She zealously advocates for clients in all areas of family law and child protective services, striving to deliver inventive, tailored solutions that address the unique needs of each family and individual. 

Known for her warm demeanor and persistent work ethic, Ms. Amiji establishes personal rapport with her clients, earning their trust and appreciation through dedication and compassionate representation. She completed her Juris Doctor at Thomas M. Cooley Law School of Western Michigan University, where she actively participated in the Student Bar Association and distinguished herself in moot court, placing second in the Melissa Mitchell Competition during her second year. 

Ms. Amiji earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in liberal arts and minoring in business through the McCombs School of Business. During her academic journey, she engaged in various community service initiatives and developed a passion for public service that informs her legal practice.

Before law school, Ms. Amiji gained valuable experience at a civil litigation firm in Austin, solidifying her legal foundation. She is duly licensed to practice in Texas and admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. An esteemed member of the legal community, she serves as publicity co-chair of the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association and is an active participant in the State Bar of Texas Family Law and Business Law Sections, the South Asian Bar Association and the Asian Pacific American Bar Association. Through her professional achievements and community engagement, she continues to elevate the standards of legal representation for families in Texas.
