A member of the State Bar of Texas for 18 years, Meredith “Shelly” Troberman is one of the two founding partners of the boutique law firm Carroll Troberman, PLLC, in Austin. Shelly focuses her practice on family law, CPS defense, criminal defense and a niche focus on medical CPS cases. She extends her service to residents across the state with a particular focus on Travis, Hays, and Williamson counties and handles the following matters:
- Family Law: Divorce, child custody, child support, child protection services (CPS) issues and same-sex marriage
- CPS Defense: with a particular focus on medical CPS cases.
- Criminal Defense: DUI, drug crimes, felonies, expungement, hit-and-run charges, theft, sex crimes and white collar crimes
Having lived her entire life in the state of Texas, Ms. Troberman considers herself a true Texan at heart. She completed both undergraduate and law studies at prestigious universities in the state, earning her Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin and her Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law.
As a young attorney, Mr. Troberman started her career at a well-known firm based out of San Antonio known for its fierce defense of people facing criminal charges. Here, she honed her skills as a criminal defense attorney and mostly focused her time on white collar criminal defense and appellate cases. Later, she served as an assistant county attorney in the Travis County Attorney’s Office for almost three years, where she prosecuted and tried numerous cases. In 2012, she founded Carroll Troberman, PLLC, with one of her closest companions. Her dedication to attaining justice for her clients has earned their trust as well as numerous accolades and awards.
In addition to maintaining healthy working relationships with legal professionals across the state including court staff, prosecutors and Judges, Ms. Troberman holds active memberships in several organizations, such as the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Austin Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, National Trial Lawyers Association, Austin Bar Association and others.
