Jose Calderon

Jose Calderon, a Houston native and the proud first-generation son of Mexican immigrants, is the founder and lead trial attorney at The Calderon Law Firm - Abogado José Calderón, in Bellaire, Texas. His practice encompasses the full spectrum of personal injury law, from motor vehicle collisions and premises liability to workplace injuries and wrongful death claims.

From a young age, Mr. Calderon demonstrated an unwavering commitment to justice, volunteering with nonprofits such as the Workers Defense Project and the Austin Tenants’ Council to champion the rights of individuals facing unsafe housing conditions and unlawful evictions. That early passion guided his academic journey: he earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Texas, where he was inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta honor society, and went on to graduate from South Texas College of Law Houston on a Dean’s Merit Scholarship.

Before establishing his own practice, Mr. Calderon honed his skills at some of Texas’s most respected personal injury firms, representing hundreds of clients across a wide spectrum of cases. It was during this period that he recognized the importance of truly personalized advocacy, inspiring him to launch The Calderon Law Firm - Abogado José Calderón. He personally oversees every case, ensuring that each client receives the dedicated support and vigorous representation they deserve.

Mr. Calderon’s litigation prowess earned him a spot on the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 list by only his second year in practice. He has appeared before the Texas Tenth Court of Appeals in a rare live session – arguing in front of both judges and law students – underscoring his confidence and skill at every tribunal level.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Mr. Calderon serves a diverse clientele from around the globe, bringing cultural understanding and empathetic communication to each matter he handles. True to his roots, he continues to give back by accepting select tenant and landlord cases pro bono.
