Board certified as a family law specialist by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Ms. Smith assists with a wide range of issues involving divorce, marital agreements, child support, parenting time, adoptions, alimony, restraining orders, grandparents’ rights and post-decree modifications.
At the University of Houston, Ms. Smith completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in humanities (pre-law). While in college, she served as a mediator for low-income clients, which helped her identify her passion and jump-start her legal career. She graduated with her Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2004.
To further her knowledge in mediation strategies, Ms. Smith earned her Master of Law degree at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution – Pepperdine University School of Law. Ms. Smith is proficient in settling matters outside the court but also demonstrates success when appearing in trials. She was also recently called on to showcase her legal knowledge at the CEELI Institute, a nonprofit organization in Prague, Czech Republic. Moreover, she has experience serving as an adjunct professor at Texas Christian University.
