Myra K. Morris

Myra K. Morris, of counsel at Royston Rayzor, represents businesses and state and local governments in all facets of employment law and litigation in both state and federal courts. Located in Corpus Christi, Texas, she also serves the Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Laredo and Rio Grande Valley areas. Additionally, Ms. Morris advises nonprofit corporations and homeowners associations on various matters.

Subsequent to completing her undergraduate work with a B.B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin in 1982, Ms. Morris earned her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1990. She was named the Thelen, Marrin, Johnson & Bridges Interscholastic National Mock Trial winner and Advocate of the Year, both in 1990. Ms. Morris further honed her legal skills while as a law clerk for a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. She is licensed to practice in Texas state courts as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Western and Northern Districts of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.

In defending her clients in various matters involving discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour claims, Ms. Morris has experience before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Texas Workforce Commission, the United States Department of Labor, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and other agencies.

The recipient of an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell, Ms. Morris is a member of the Corpus Christi Bar Association, the American Bar Association's Labor and Employment Section, and the Labor and Employment Section of The State Bar of Texas. She has been certified as a specialist in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  She is on the Executive Boards of Texas Women Lawyers and the National Conference of Women Bar Associations.  She is also involved with several local non-profits.
