Alex Bell

Construction disputes are expensive, slow, and a distraction from the work that actually pays the bills. My job is to make them shorter. I represent contractors, builders, design professionals, and their insurers in construction defect, indemnity, and professional liability disputes. I press for resolution at the earliest point the facts and the law allow, so my clients can get back to the work that matters: serving their own clients and customers.

My practice centers on four areas:

• construction defect and design professional defense
• contract drafting and negotiation
• the Residential Construction Liability Act
• trial and appeals

I'm licensed in Texas and Arizona and practice through my firm, Bell Construction Law, in Dallas, Texas.

I started my career as a prosecutor. I tried cases as an assistant district attorney, then defended them on appeal as Chief of the Appellate Division in Waco. That background shapes every case I take: I build the trial record with the appeal already in view. I have also guided clients through civil, criminal, and regulatory investigations by OSHA, the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Real Estate Commission, and the Texas Railroad Commission.

I was selected to Texas Super Lawyers for Construction Litigation in 2026, and to Texas Rising Stars for Personal Injury Defense from 2019 through 2024.

Outside the courtroom, I serve on the University Park City Council. State Bar Presidents have twice appointed me to three-year terms on the State Bar Committee on Administration of the Rules of Evidence. I'm also a former two-term director of the Texas Young Lawyers Association. I've also led my church council and served on the boards of several non-profits.

I received my J.D. from Baylor University School of Law in 2009 and my B.A. from the Honors College at Baylor University in 2006.
