Top Rated Business Litigation Attorney in Dallas, TX
Selected to Rising Stars: 2016 - 2019
Andrés has come to understand that, much like war is the continuation of politics, litigation can be the continuation of business. As a result, he is committed to creatively but aggressively resolving the business challenge that brings the client to the lawyer, whether through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation.
Andrés has helped clients terminate business relationships when suitable, mediate burgeoning disputes when possible, and litigate in arbitral panels, state and federal courts, and foreign courts when necessary. He has negotiated settlements on the eve of litigation to ensure that multi-million dollar transactions move forward; he has counseled individuals as they transition businesses; and he has negotiated multi-year partnership agreements between cross-continental manufacturers, all without the need for litigation. But once in litigation, he has secured preliminary injunctive relief for companies facing immediate and irreparable harm; he has coordinated clients’ multi-national litigation to achieve the desired result in all fora; he has won dispositive summary judgments both as a plaintiff and a defendant; and he has helped ensure that trial court judgments are upheld all the way to the Texas Supreme Court. These matters have involved:
- Noncompetition agreements;
- Partnership formation and dissolution;
- Internal investigations;
- "Foreign-cubed” securities litigation;
- Attorney disqualification proceedings;
- Intellectual property litigation, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets; and
- Real estate litigation.
Whether it’s complex litigation involving multi-national corporations or a small business’s breach of contract action, Andrés looks for the right result for the client’s specific business goals. And it’s not just businesses that he represents; Andrés has also represented nonprofits and cities in various types of disputes.
Prior to practicing, Andrés earned a J.D., cum laude, from New York University School of Law. While attending law school, he served as an Articles Editor on the Law Review, a term-time clerk for the Honorable Richard J. Holwell of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Co-Chair of the Latino Law Students Association, and President of the Mock Trial Team. At NYU, Andrés received a number of awards for written and oral advocacy and for academic achievement.
Before joining Lynn Pinker Cox & Hurst, LLP, Andrés practiced law in the New York office of Cravath, Swaine & Moore L.L.P.
