Anne M. Johnson

Anne M. Johnson, a distinguished partner at Tillotson, Johnson & Patton in Dallas, Texas, stands out as a premier appellate specialist renowned for her adept handling of high-stakes appeals across state and federal courts. With a profound capability that spans the breadth of the legal spectrum – from commercial disputes and personal injury to product liability and family law – she is a formidable presence both in and out of the courtroom. 

A 1992 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in history, followed by a J.D. in 1995 from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law, Ms. Johnson gained her license to practice law in Texas that same year. She is also admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th, 6th and 8th Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, Southern and Western Districts of Texas.

Ms. Johnson's prowess has not gone unnoticed. In 2020, she earned the title of Litigator of the Week from AmLaw Litigation Daily after successfully overturning a $110 million fraud verdict. Benchmark Litigation recognized her as a standout star in appellate law, including her in the Top 250 Women in Litigation for three consecutive years. Prior to her tenure at Tillotson, Johnson & Patton, Ms. Johnson was a pivotal member of an Am Law 100 firm, where she not only chaired the Litigation Department but also contributed to the firm's Executive Committee and board of directors. Her strategic move to Tillotson, Johnson & Patton in March 2022 was celebrated as a significant merger of legal talents by The Texas Lawbook.

Beyond her practice, Ms. Johnson dedicates herself to the legal community and broader societal issues. She is actively involved with The Patrick E. Higginbotham American Inn of Court, co-chairs the Women’s Advocacy Awards supporting Legal Aid of Northwest Texas and plays a leadership role at the University of Texas Center for Women in Law.
